Parking is free on Sunday in the parking arcade off Duke Street with direct access to THEMUSEUM.

Brownman Ali — an Internationally acclaimed jazz trumpet iconoclast and life-long disciple of the great Miles Davis — will lead an all-star quartet through 2 sets of Miles’ seminal work: the first set traversing Miles’ famous “Kind Of Blue” recording from top to bottom, with the second set featuring selections from Miles’ time on the Prestige label. This concert will be an exploration of Miles Davis’ work you won’t want to miss from an artist called “one of the greatest interpreters of Miles Davis’ work in Canada today”, by the Hamilton Spectator.

ABOUT BROWNMAN ALI: Born in Trinidad, school in NY, mentored by the great Randy Brecker, and now splitting his time between Brooklyn, NY and Toronto, ON, Brownman has been heralded by the NY Village Voice as “Canada’s preeminent jazz trumpet player”. From 2006 to 2010, Brownman toured the globe as the featured soloist with the legendary New York City jazz-hip-hop artist GURU (of Gangstarr fame) in his JAZZMATAZZ ensemble, and is has now called upon by the likes of Jay-z, Beyonce, Kayne West, Paul Simon & Quincy Jones. In December 2009, Brownman launched his own independent record label BROWNTASAURAS RECORDS as a home to the 8 ensembles he leads and actively writes.
